We are proud to announce that our Founder, Jay Rajakariyar, has been nominated for the prestigious 2024 Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) Award in the category of Business, Economic, and Entrepreneurial Accomplishment, organized by JCI Malta. This award highlights individuals whose entrepreneurial efforts have promoted inclusive and sustainable growth, making a significant impact on both local and international levels.
Jay’s entrepreneurial journey has been nothing short of inspiring. After launching Sliema Fight Co. in 2021, he quickly grew it into a thriving combat sports gym with over 200 members. Sliema Fight Co. not only focuses on physical fitness but also emphasizes the importance of community, offering mentorship to young athletes and collaborating with institutions like BioArte on cutting-edge research into athletic performance and the gut microbiome.
His achievements also include winning the 2024 JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur Malta Award. This victory took him to the European stage, where he competed with some of the most innovative minds in entrepreneurship. Though he fell just short of a win, the experience further strengthened his vision for growth and impact.
Beyond his work with Sliema Fight Co., Jay’s creative side shines through as a professional artist, offering commissions in oils and watercolors. He also teaches guided painting sessions, a peaceful contrast to his world of combat sports.
Sliema Fight Co. continues to expand, introducing new projects such as Sliema Fight Co. TV and raising funding at the Malta Startup Festival, all while maintaining a strong community focus and fostering a positive impact for people of all ages. We are incredibly excited about what’s next for both Jay, his coaching team and the Sliema Fight Co. community.
Voting for the final award will be open for two weeks, you’ll be able to cast your vote online here soon.
